Instagram Reels Ideas For Businesses
Here are three easy reel ideas that you should start making for your business today. If you are already making reels for your business, it's one of the best ways to actually reach new audiences. Or maybe you are making reels already, but they aren't having the best results. Here are three fresh ideas for you to try. And read until the end to learn the strategy of what to put as your captions for these reels because it is different than what you put in a caption for a normal post.
My name is Megan and I help my clients go from confused to confident on Instagram. I help business owners build a loyal community, get quality clients from Instagram, and build a profitable business. Let's get started.
The first one I'm sharing is actually one of my favorites to make because it's really fun. It's showing behind the scenes content of your business. By showcasing the "unseen" side of your business, you're building trust within your audience because they get to see something extra that people don't have access to. An example of this would be introducing your team members. So you would do this by going around and featuring some employees having fun working, explaining what they love about working there, and their role on the team. Or another example would be showing the process of what you have to do before working with a new client. Maybe it's onboarding, maybe it's research, but show those behind the scenes to build that trust with your audience, because this personal touch is what helps build trust and connects potential customers and clients to your brand.
The second reel I'm going to talk about is creating a customer testimonial/success story reel. This would be a reel compiled of different videos and testimonials from your current or past clients showing how your product or service has made a positive impact in their lives. Authentic reviews from these satisfied clients will boost your credibility and attract new customers.
The third and final type of reel you should be making is also the easiest one you can make. And this is b-roll reels with quick tips and tricks about what you do overlaying that video. So what you want to do is actually type out really bite-sized pieces of content that are valuable to your audience on top of a video of you doing everyday things like working at your computer or helping a client. For example if you're a fitness trainer you can talk about some workout tips above that video, if you work in a salon maybe you talk about some beauty hacks that you have over that video, but the goal here is to provide some sort of value so that way you're positioning yourself as an expert in your field. The nice part about this reel is that you don't have to do any talking and you can find content that you already have from your camera roll or you can film during any day of work. This type of reel tends to do really well in every industry and it's really easy to make so I recommend trying this one out. I do have a more detailed video of exactly how to make this type of reel and some examples. Watch that video HERE.
Okay now that we have the three different types of reels you're going to start making as a business owner, I'll talk about what to put in the caption of those reels and there's two different strategies so be sure to pay attention to which one you think will be right for you or which one you think your potential customers or clients would react to best. So the first strategy for captions is the shorter the better. Get to the point, no fluff, say exactly what's going on in the video and how it relates to your ideal customer or client, and then include your call to action at the bottom. The second strategy is the longer the better. So completely opposite, but reasoning behind it is this: if you're doing something that is like a b-roll video with a really short amount of text on the screen, maybe you want to elaborate a bit in the caption. Just going through more of that concept you were talking about in the video. So if you write a really long caption it could possibly benefit the performance of your video because people will have that reel on loop in the background while they're reading the whole caption. Of course you still want a call to action at the bottom telling them to go to whatever stage is next in your sales funnel whether that is being added to your email list, going to a sales call, or downloading your freebie. Whatever it is, you definitely want to include the call to action no matter what strategy you choose of the two.
And these are just three examples of good reels you should be making as a business owner, but if you want help building your full Instagram strategy and want to know how to get real clients from Instagram, that's exactly what I help my clients with in my course the Instagram Pro Bootcamp.
